WORLDPAC considers the relationship with our customers to be paramount to our success in the marketplace. As such, we understand the obligation we have
to ensure you, the customer, is given the service and attention you deserve. We also have an obligation to protect the information you provide to us in the course
of doing business with WORLDPAC. The WORLDPAC Privacy Policy is our promise to you that we do all we can to protect one of your biggest concerns; you're privacy. You may browse through the www.worldpac.com site without providing personal information. By using the site, you are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
A summary of what follows in the WORLDPAC Privacy Policy:
- We do not sell, lend, or lease your personal or company ("personal") information to advertisers, sponsors, vendors, or third parties.
- We encrypt credit card information and otherwise secure your personal data.
- We display the name and location of your business in the WORLDPAC Community Forums. We also display a list of who is online on the Forums.
- Any interactive content posted to the Forums, through the use of speedDIAL, or WEBPARTS is not private and is not covered by this policy.
- We do not tolerate unsolicited email or advertisements (a.k.a "spam") to our customers either in speedDIAL email or on the Forums.
- We do monitor sales trends and missed sales to further enhance our product offering. This information is anonymous and aggregate data and not tied to a specific IP address.
- We strive to keep your information private but unforeseen circumstances may result in the release of personal data.
What Personal Information Does WORLDPAC Collect and How is it Used?
WORLDPAC continuously strives to improve its product offering and Customer Service Level. To do this, we use information about
you and your company. The types of information we gather are:
- Information You Give Us
We collect and store information you give us during the credit approval process including credit card number, telephone and email address. We ensure the information is held in a restricted and confidential manner.
- Forum Content
WORLDPAC Community Forums policy is governed by the WORLDPAC Community Forum Policy and in general, information you provide in your profile and posted comments is not considered private and may be used by WORLDPAC and its affiliates for purposes outlined in the WORLDPAC Community Forum Policy. You should consider WORLDPAC Community Forums a public area and as such, information you provide may become available to the public.
- speedDIAL, speedDIAL Express, WEBPARTS
We collect usage patterns, sales totals, volume, and delivery information when you use these products. Information we collect is used primarily to replenish inventory supplies and may be analyzed to create or enhance product offering or detect abuse of the products.
- speedDIAL Email
WORLDPAC does not send unsolicited emails. If you send an email to us, it is understood that you want to receive a communication from us. We will confirm receipt of the email. Email is stored on a WORLDPAC email server for an indefinite amount of time. The server is backed-up periodically and email you delete from your speedDIAL account may be present in an offline backup. When you delete email from your speedDIAL account, it is removed from the server and can not be retrieved.
WORLDPAC does not use speedDIAL email in any way other than for communication to and from the Customer or between Customers.
Does WORLDPAC Share the Information It Receives?
- Credit Card Information
When you use a credit card to pay your bill or otherwise purchase products and services from WORLDPAC, we necessarily use your credit card information to process the payment through a secure communication link to a third party authorized to process credit card transactions. In some cases we store your credit card information on a restricted and secure server to make this process more convenient for you.
- Contests
WORLDPAC may use information we gather when you enter a contest to create marketing programs for future products and services. We don't sell, give or loan your information to a third party.
- Your Consent
Other than as set out above, you will receive notice in the unlikely event that information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
- Unforeseen Circumstances
Due to the existing regulatory environment, we cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this privacy policy. For example: third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications; authorities may
supply search warrants for our premises; a program error, hardware glitch, network problem, or other technical issue may inadvertently reveal personal information; we may need to disclose personal information to enforce our Policy or to protect the property, safety, and rights of WORLDPAC. Therefore, although we constantly strive to protect your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personally identifiable information or private communications will always remain private.
